Where We Went:
We left Estes Park and traveled to Denver, Garden of the Gods,

Cave of the Winds and then on to Travel Lodge Motel in Colorado Springs

What Happened:
Uncle Bob got a tick while hiking on trails.. Mike tried to remove it with twizers, but when that failed .. We took him to emergency care.. and a doctor there got it out

In the afternoon we took a tram ride to the top of Prospect Mountain..

We feed all the ground squirles there peanuts

Thursday Day #3 June 7 2007

Today's Date: June 7th, 2007
Leaving DaysInn Motel at North Platte, Neb heading toward Colorado

after we have a contential breakfast of danish
High Wind Warning in effect until noon MDT today...
Today
Partly sunny with a 20 percent chance of rain showers. Strong winds. Highs 47 to 57. West winds 30 to 45 mph decreasing to 25 to 35 mph in the afternoon. Gusts up to 80 mph this morning.

Where We Went:

Local Park in North Platte .. played tennis..

and saw critters
Rocky Mountain National Park .. and Loveland, Colorado then to motel at Estes Park


What Happened:
We got slowed down by the wind, and road construction , but made it to Roosevelt National Park.. saw mountains .. and fisherman catching trout.. lots of cabins along road ..then on to Loveland and checked into Lodge about 3:30 Mountain time.

Dinner at Smokey Dave's Bar B Que was very good

on the way for burgers, where else but MAC Donald's
Very, very, windy day.. head wind so strong that it slowed the van down to 50 miles per hour in spots .. didn't make to Colorado.. But we are now about 100 miles away

Taco Bell has a wireless internet.. awesome !

Day of the long drive from Coraville, Iowa thru Nebraska to Colorado


What Happened:
Started the morning off with breakfast at scrambled eggs and breakfast food at Bev's.. Then went to Best Buy and Ryan upgraded Bev's computer memory..

Stoped at Panera's Bread got bagels.. Left Coralville about 12 Noon..

Now on the road to Des Moines.. at 12:39 mile marker 214

Got gas at a truck stop at Walcott for $3.09 a gal.. what a deal
